I recently saw this statement in an article in MORE magazine. It went something like this…”When enough of the ‘right’ people validate a look, what seems unattractive at first can soon become desirable.” It was referring to the frozen, overdone botox face. The rest of the piece was advocating for a more tasteful use of plastic surgery – very disappointing for a magazine like MORE , which claims to celebrate women of a certain age. Wouldn’t it be just better to talk about accepting what naturally happens, rather than to succumb to this ongoing obsession with youth? I say let’s validate wrinkles! If more women keep them, if the ‘right’ people have them, then we can all move on to more important topics than how we look.
